A slow river adventure

Timber rafting package 8 days

A full week of timber rafting

This package is a week long outdoor adventure on a classic timber log raft in northern Sweden. Bring your family or a group of friends and create memories for life. You build the timber raft on your own, overseen by a guide. Once at sea (or at river, really), you’ll move gently downstream. You’ll spend the nights in a tent and cook your meals on a camping stove.

This is an adventure of the slower kind. A chance to really relax. To let go and watch the birds, the river, the wildlife and the great sky above. A chance to experience the sub-arctic midnight light, when the sun hardly even goes down. A chance to see a moose at dawn. To fish, swim and sleep in nature.

Build the raft

The first night is spent at Granö Beckasin in your choice of accommodations. Dinner and breakfast are included. After breakfast you’ll build your raft. It’s a solid construction made of around 100 logs. Our guides oversee your work and specially made raft scaffolding help the process. For 2 adults of average fitness it usually takes 6–7 hours to build the raft. With more people it will go faster. After launch our guide will give a short class on how to handle the raft and equip you with everything you need, from a laminated map to a back-up engine and food for the whole trip. Then, off you go.

Slowly through the wild

Sometimes you just glide along, and on occasion you have to paddle and steer to be in the right place. During your days on the raft you will swim, sunbathe, take pictures, read, look at the birdlife and wildlife along the river. Fishing is free and not restricted, and maybe you get lucky and catch something for dinner. Each evening you will tie the raft to a tree and find a camp spot (we have suggestions), or sleep in the tent on the raft. Either way, you’ll fall asleep to the magic light and the sounds of the wilderness.
The pace of the journey is determined by the currents, the wind and weather conditions. With the map’s help you can adjust the journey so that you reach the goal on day 7. Now it’s time to deconstruct the raft. This will take about 2 hours. We’ll come get you and take you back to Granö Beckasin. Here you may add a well deserved extra night, or move on to new adventures.
