Snowshoe Hiking

To hike on snowshoes is a fantastic experience. No matter how thick the layer of snow is, you can get almost anywhere; through forests, on top of packed ice and across bogs. Our guided tours give you a unique opportunity to see the winter magic of Västerbotten. You will also walk away with lots of new knowledge about nature and wildlife.

Snowshoe hiking is suitable for most people. You don’t need any previous experience and you guide will adjust the pace to the group.

Snowshoe Hiking – The secret winter life of the forest

Try the experience of hiking with snowshoes in this shorter guided morning tour. Your guide will lead you through the forest and share lots of knowledge about plants and animals and their strategies to survive the winter.

Snowshoe Hiking – Silent peatland walk

A slightly longer guided afternoon tour on snowshoes. This tour takes you through the woods but also to a frozen bog. We look for traces of wildlife and try navigating with a map and compass. Halfway through the tour we build a fire in the snow and enjoy warm drinks and snacks.

Snowshoe Hiking – Evening walk under the stars

Amazing experience of the winter darkness during a guided snowshoe tour. Our path is lit by the moon and the starry sky, if we’re lucky even the Aurora Borealis. The snow reflects the light and you will see the snow crystals sparkle. The tour includes building a fire in the snow, warm drinks and snacks.

Guided group tour on snowshoes according to description. Your experienced nature guide will show the way and also share knowledge about nature and wildlife. Snowshoes and walking sticks are included, and we always begin with a brief technical go-through of your equipment.
