Northern lights – or the more poetic Aurora Borealis – is a well known phenomena high on many people’s bucket list. Many guests here at Granö Beckasin arrive with a wish to experience the magic. And rightfully so. It’s a truly mighty experience to see the light and colours dance across the sky, shifting from green to pink and purple.
We are right now at the peak of a celestial cycle that promises extra northern light activity. The number of northern light occasions will continue to rise until July 2025. The best time of day is usually between 10–11 pm.
At Granö Beckasin, your chances are good to see this mighty celestial performance. We are close to the polar circle, far away from the light pollution of the cities, and we also enjoy beautiful calm waters that reflect the colours of the night in a fantastic way.
With the help of the snow mobiles, we can access open places in a big area, hoping to see and chasing the magical Aurora Borealis. The quiet forest and blueish black night sky create a setting to remember.
This unique accommodation in the trees gives you the opportunity to fall asleep quietly cradled by the wind between the trees. You’ll see a magnificent night sky from the skylights – in winter with chances of seeing the northern lights.
An amazing tour suitable for anyone who doesn’t want to or isn’t able to drive their own dog sled. In this tour you and your group sit on a larger sled, driven by a professional guide. The sled is big enough for up to four adults, and you’ll be sitting on reindeer felt.
