You meet our friendly guide at Granö Beckasin and receive equipment and an introduction to snowshoe hiking. During the tour, you hike together as a small group of up to 2-8 guests plus guide. The group moves at a relaxed pace stopping regularly to look at wildlife tracks and learn about ecology and winter adaptation of plants, animals, fungi and lichen. You do not need to be athletic to follow along just fine.

Since you booked our four-hour tour, there is enough time to explore a varied landscape of forest, lakes and wetlands. We move both on and off-trail in the deeper snow, search for wildlife tracks and there is room for questions and discussion about nature.

Halfway, we light a fire in the snow and enjoy a hot beverage and snack. For the break, please bring a warm pullover or jacket. Maybe on the way home you want to try and lead the way with the compass for a while?

• Everyone is welcome! You don’t need to be athletic or have any former experience in snowshoe hiking but look forward to actively take part in the experience and be outdoors in the snow for four hours with the group.
• When do we meet? Already paid online? Then just come to the meeting point 10 minutes before the tour begins. Otherwise plan in some extra time to pay at the Lodge.
• Late arrival: please make sure to arrive on time to avoid missing the tour. Other guests also take part in your tour or any tours scheduled afterwards so we can usually not wait for late guests which means that you can lose your space without refund. So, in case you run late, please call us as soon as possible so we can try to solve the situation.
• What should I wear? This tour has a snack break where we stop moving and stand or sit around a campfire. For this break it’s nice to have an extra layer of clothing in your backpack like a warm jumper.

You can rent winter clothing from us (see below). We recommend the following clothing for all winter activities. As a base layer you should wear a set of warm long wool underwear combined with a warm and windproof jacket and trousers such as ski or snowmobile clothing. Put on comfortable hiking

boots/winter boots and two layers of wool socks (one thin liner, one thick pair). Then you should wear a woolly hat, gloves and mittens and a scarf. If it’s really cold it’s nice to have a face mask.

• Rent winter clothing from us: For a one-time fee of 500SEK/person you can rent warm clothing and shoes from us. We can provide you with a warm snow mobile jacket and pair of trousers, shoes, hats and gloves in adult sizes S-XXXL/37-48. We also got some face masks. Note: please bring your own warm clothing for children.
• Face lotion: Depending on temperature, it can be nice to protect your face with a lotion that is suitable for winter sport (not water-based).

• Hungry? You are welcome to eat a meal or snack at our lodge restaurant before or after your tour. We offer a good range of food from meat to yummy vegan options.
