Did you ever try walking on snowshoes? It’s really easy and fun! This guided tour takes you into the wild woods where we explore how plants and animals survive our Nordic winter. We search for wildlife tracks, discover different types of snow and relax in the quiet. Our fantastic snowshoes take us safely up- and down the hill – even on two meters snow we can walk just fine! You will marvel at the beauty that surrounds us because up here nature puts on a big show every day!

Did you ever try snowshoeing before? Try it out on our shorter 2-hour-tour! Bring your camera, you will take amazing pictures!

We meet at Granö Beckasin reception and put on our snowshoes together. You also receive skiing poles which give you a lot of stability while hiking up- and downhill. After a short demonstration on how to use your equipment we leave for the wild woods. Are you excited to get going? Our fantastic snowshoes take us to all the beautiful places you wouldn’t reach on foot this time of the year. Even on two meters snow we can walk just fine, it’s so much fun!

Together we explore the forest, search for wildlife tracks and talk about different strategies that plants and animals have developed to survive the winter up here. You will find that we are surrounded by some very smart survival artists. And you will marvel at the beauty that surrounds us because up here nature puts on a big show every day!

Good to know

Everyone is welcome and you don’t need to be athletic or have any former experience. But please let us know if you should have any relevant medical conditions we should know about.
When do we meet? Already paid online? Then just come to the meeting point 10 minutes before the tour begins. Otherwise plan in some extra time to pay at the Lodge.
Late arrival: please make sure to arrive on time to avoid missing the tour. Other guests also take part in your tour or any tours scheduled afterwards so we can usually not wait for late guests which means that you can lose your space without refund. So, in case you run late, please call us as soon as possible so we can try to solve the situation.
What should I wear? You can rent winter clothing from us (see below). We recommend the following clothing for all winter activities. As a base layer you should wear a set of warm long wool underwear combined with a warm and windproof jacket and trousers such as ski or snowmobile clothing. Put on comfortable hiking boots/winter boots and two layers of wool socks (one thin liner, one thick pair). Then you should wear a woolly hat, gloves and mittens and a scarf. If it’s really cold it’s nice to have a face mask.
Rent winter clothing from us: For a one-time fee of 500SEK/person you can rent warm clothing and shoes from us. We can provide you with a warm snow mobile jacket and pair of trousers, shoes, hats and gloves in adult sizes S-XXXL/37-48. We also got some face masks. Note: please bring your own warm clothing for children.
Face lotion: Depending on temperature, it can be nice to protect your face with a lotion that is suitable for winter sport (not water-based).
